Provided below is information and links regarding benefits and services potentially available to you. We strongly recommend, if you are considering requesting services or submitting an application to the VA, that you contact your County Veterans Service Office. Their Service Officers specialize in assisting veterans and their family members with claims, applications, and appeals to the VA.

Colorado National Guard Records

The Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs  (DMVA) holds military personnel records for Army and Air National Guard members with separation dates before 2007. Visit the DMVA Archives webpage to learn more. 

The G1 has personnel records for Army National Guard members with separation dates after 2007. To learn more please visit their Archives web page.

DMVA Archives does not have records related to other branches of service. 

Other Military Records

Colorado Division of Veterans Affairs

Veterans whose home of record at the time of discharge was Colorado can call 303-914-5832 to check if the State Operations Office has received their DD214.

National Archives

Individuals or family members may submit a Standard Form 180 (SF180) to the National Archives to request DD214s and other service records. The SF180 and more information is available on the National Archives website

If additional access to military records is needed, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request can also be submitted to National Archives on their website.
