FY2027 Veterans Assistance Grant (VAG) & Veterans Trust Fund (VTF) Grant Cycle: Key Dates and Requirements

We are pleased to announce the schedule for the FY2027 VAG and VTF grant cycle. Please note these dates and instructions carefully to ensure a successful application.

Important Dates:

Note: All applications must be entered into and submitted through our secure online grant management system. Applications submitted through email will NOT be accepted.

Training & Appointments

We strongly encourage all applicants to attend an application training session. A representative from our online grant management system will be conducting training focused specifically on using the online system.

Mandatory New Grantee Appointments

If you are a new grantee, you are required to set up a meeting with the Grants Manager to discuss your proposed budget and project plan. Please email Lisa.Stamm@dmva.state.co.us to set up a meeting.

Appointment Window: Appointments can be made during the following dates: January 7, 2026 – February 27, 2026. Appointments will not be made after February 20, 2026.

FY2027 Grant Instructions Available (VAG and VTF Only)

The instructions for the Fiscal Year 2027 Veterans Assistance Grant (VAG) and Veterans Trust Fund (VTF) applications are now available! We encourage all prospective applicants to review them immediately to begin preparing their materials.

Key Dates and Submission Requirements

Submission Method: 

• Only applications submitted through the online portal will be accepted. Applications sent via email will not be accepted.
• Portal Opening Date: The online grant application portal will open on January 20, 2026.
• Portal Link: The direct link to the online portal will be posted on this website closer to the opening date.

Veterans Assistance Grant (VAG)

This grant is open to nonprofit organizations with a 501 (c) status other than 19 or 23 and governmental entities. Online applications will be accepted from January 20, 2026 until March 24, 2026. Applications sent via email WILL NOT be accepted. Late applications not accepted.

Veterans Trust Fund (VTF)

This grant is open only to organizations that are Nationally Recognized Veterans Service Organizations with a 501(c) 19 or 23 status.  Online applications will be accepted from January 20, 2026 until March 24, 2026. Applications sent via email WILL NOT be accepted. Late applications not accepted.

Steps:

3. Create your account.
   1. Type your email. A code will be sent to you.
   2. Check your email for code. Copy code into the form.
   3. Complete sign-up process - type in a password.
   4. For "Given Name" indicate your first name.
   5. For "Surname" indicate your last name.
4. Sign in with your new account.
5. Follow the instructions to complete your application. 

FY2027 Veterans Community Living Centers (VCLC) Veterans Trust Fund (VTF) Grant Information

This grant is open only to Colorado Veteran Community Living Centers. Online applications will be accepted from January 20, 2026 until March 24, 2026. Applications sent via email WILL NOT be accepted. Late applications not accepted.
